Biographical Details
Edward was born in 1885 and enlisted in the 3rd Field Artillery in July 1915. He had been a French polisher with Bills and Company. Edward left Melbourne on HMTS Ballarat and was in Egypt in December when he came down with diphtheria and influenza. He was still very sick when he reached England and was admitted to hospital in Oxford. He re-joined his regiment at the Front in June 1917 but was killed in action on 20 May 1918. Sadly his family were never given any of his personal belongings that he may have left behind.
