Biographical Details

At almost 40 Henry was one of the oldest servicemen on our memorial. He enlisted at Claremont in November 1916 and embarked on the Ascanius in May 1917. After training in England he proceeded to France in October. Henry returned to Australia after the end of the war in July 1919. He died in Hobart.His name is misspelled on the memorial. On his enlistment papers he spelled it Von Stieglitz.
