Biographical Details
Keith was born in Albury, NSW and moved to Launceston in 1906. He attended Scotch College and on enlistment in 1914 he was working as a clerk. He was among the first to embark for Egypt and with the 3rd Field Artillery he saw active service in Gallipoli and later in France. He was hospitalised several times with mumps, diarrhoea and a severely sprained back. Late in 1918 Keith was selected to attend the Royal Artillery Cadet School and was commissioned early in 1919. On his return to Launceston he married Gwendolyn Stewart and established a real-estate company. The Roxburghs were part of Launceston’s social set of the 1920s and 1930s. He died in Launceston in 1979.
