Biographical Details
Arthur had been ‘rejected as unfit’ in 1914 but in March 1917 he successfully enlisted in Launceston. He did his initial training at Maribyrnong and left Melbourne for France in November 1917. At the Front he was attached to the 9th Infantry Brigade as a driver. Arthur returned to Australia in September 1919. He died in Launceston and was cremated at Carr Villa Cemetery.
