Biographical Details
Percy went to the Wellington Square school and trained as an engineer. He enlisted in the 10th Battalion at Claremont on 10 December 1914. After initial training in Tasmania he embarked on the Clan McGillvray in February 1915 for Egypt, Lemnos and Gallipoli. Percy was killed on 8 May 1915 and is buried at Lone Pine. His remains have never been recovered or identified. His name on the Lone Pine memorial is one of 4000 Australians who fell on the peninsula and who have no known grave. His personal effects were sent home and consisted only of two books, a pocket knife, a letter and a thimble.
