Biographical Details

Colin was nineteen and an apprentice cabinet maker at Coogans when he enlisted for the first time at Claremont in September 1915. For unknown reasons he deserted in January 1916 but re-enlisted ten days later at Liverpool, NSW. He embarked from Sydney in April and arrived at the Front in June. Colin was admitted to hospital with debility and trench fever at the end of 1916 but returned to the Front for much of 1917 and 1918. After his return to Australia Colin was constantly in trouble with the law and was well known as a petty criminal. He died in 1965 in South Australia.
