Biographical Details

Rod enlisted in the 1st Remount Unit in October 1915. He was twenty three and a driver. He embarked on the Orsova in November and arrived in Egypt at the end of December. In February 1916 he was prosecuted for fighting in the mess which led to admission to Abbassia Military Hospital as a ‘mental case’. He was returned to Australia on the Demosthenes. Rod married Hazel Wright in 1919 and died in Hobart in 1944.
