Biographical Details

Edric lied about his age when he enlisted at Ross in October 1915 stating that he was two years older than his sixteen years. He left Melbourne in February 1916 and after training in England he arrived at the Front in August. He was admitted to hospital with tonsillitis on numerous occasions throughout 1917 and 1918. He returned to Tasmania at the end of 1919 and married Ellen Addison, In later years he kept a billiard saloon on Invermay Road and worked for Tasmanian Railways. He died in 1967 aged sixty eight.
