Biographical Details
Keate was one of four brothers named on our memorial. He enlisted in March 1916 and after training left for the Front where he transferred to the 51st Battalion in October. He was wounded in action in September 1917, wound to the forearm, and March 1918, gas. He re-joined his regiment in September and returned to Australia in August 1919. Keate died in Hobart in 1957 having spent his working life with the Hydro Electric Commission.
