Biographical Details

One of the older servicemen, Edward was 43 when he enlisted in the 12th Battalion in August 1915. He was married with two children and worked as a prospector. He reached the Western Front in November 1916 when he transferred to the 22nd Battalion. He developed ‘trench foot’ and was invalided back to Australia in May 1917. After the war Edward lived at Penguin and died 3 April 1939.
