Biographical Details
Leslie was almost 27 when he enlisted in the 26th Battalion in July 1915. He embarked for the front from Hobart on HMTS Ballarat and reached France in March 1916. He was wounded in action three times - August 1916, October 1917 and June 1918. Leslie returned to Tasmania in January 1919 and lived for a while in Launceston before marrying Edna Eglinton in South Australia in 1929. He served in World War 2 and died in Adelaide in 1971.
