Biographical Details

Albert was a twenty one year old clerk when he enlisted at Claremont in October 1915. He embarked from Melbourne on the Afric and arrived on the Western Front in March 1916. He had tried to enlist earlier but had been rejected as medically unfit. Albert saw active service until the end of the war and returned to Australia on the Ypirings in July 1919. He married Irene Mills in 1922 and eventually settled in Victoria working as an inspector for an insurance company. He died at Heidelberg in 1968.
