Biographical Details

Alan was an apprentice baker in Fingal when he enlisted in August 1918. He was the youngest of three brothers ( James & Robert -1915) who figure on our memorial. He was discharged soon after the cessation of hostilities in November. Alan worked for the Public Works Department in Launceston and Darwin. In 1945 he filled a vacancy for Tasmania's House of Assembly. Although his parliamentary tenure was brief Alan continued to work for the Tasmanian Labour Party.
