Biographical Details

Cyril enlisted at Claremont in November 1916. He had previously been rejected as being unfit (probably on account of his height – 5ft 3 inches). He embarked on the Seeang Bee in February 1917 arriving at the Front in November. Cyril was promoted in the field to acting positions during 1917/1918. He returned to Australia in June 1919 and joined the Union Bank in Victoria retiring as Manager in Burnie where he died in 1958.
