Biographical Details

Clarence was born near Oatlands in 1894 and was a skin merchant when he enlisted in the 3rd Field Artillery in July 1915. He embarked from Melbourne on HMTS Hororata in September and saw active service on the Western Front in 1916, 1917 and 1918. Clarence was killed in action at Roisel on 11 September 1918. His name is also recorded on the War Memorial at St Luke’s Campbelltown where he grew up.
