Biographical Details

Ken was just eighteen and a clerk living with his family at Lyttleton Street when he enlisted in January 1915. He received very little training before embarking for Egypt in February. Ken was wounded at the battle of Sari Bair in August 1915 and was admitted to hospitals at Mudros, Malta and finally Oxford. He was repatriated in March 1916 due to the wounds to his eyes. Ken married Linda Carr in 1928 and settled in Brisbane where he was living when he applied for the Anzac medallion in 1968. He died in Queensland in 1974.
